E stablished in 1964, Plastic Specialties, Inc. is a family owned and operated custom injection molder established in 1964. C. Mark Phipps, Sr. began his career in thermoforming and soon found many of his clients were looking for injection molding as well. Mark began Plastic Specialties as a sales and design company. We took the customer’s idea from the drawing board to the end user.
In 1993, Plastic Specialties transitioned from focusing on the design phase and concentrated on the physical production of injection molding. We began buying equipment and quickly out grew our facility. In 1998 we continued growing and moved operations to Elgin, IL.
I n our 18,000 sf. manufacturing facility, we run 14 late model injection molding presses ranging in size from 40 to 400 Ton. Most of our presses are equipped with hardened barrels and screws to allow us to run glass filled materials. In 2016 we built a 5,000 sf warehouse where we can house smaller items to meet our customers Just-In-Time delivery requirements and some light assembly and packaging.
